Warm Light with Michelle Dede and Timi Ojeola

A Third Space is delighted to present our next edition of Warm Light, an evening of readings, sound and conversations. This edition, renowned Nollywood actress Michelle Dede will be doing a live reading of "When A Woman Renounces Marriage", a brilliant and culturally subversive short story which won the 2020 Commonwealth Short Story Prize for Africa and was written by Innocent Chizaram Ilo. Actor Timi Ojeola will read "The Caller", a provocative short story written by award-winning writer Ope Adedeji. Each story places the experiences of women at the center and the complicated relationships with tradition, trauma, and self-definition. The evening will follow with a conversation between Innocent and Michelle on fictionalising traditions through narrative and close out with a sound session from our communal playlist.
